What our products are actually made of
We describe what our products are actually made of, and we say so when something has not been verified. This is a deliberate policy: buyers in the United States and Australia are rightly careful about stone treatments, and we would rather answer a question than lose your trust.
How we label treatment
We use these terms consistently, on the website and in quotations.
| Natural | Natural rough stone, no treatment applied. This is what most of our range is. |

| Heat-treated | Colour changed by heating. Our yellow quartz is heat-treated by heating and colour fading, and is always labelled as such. |
| Dyed | Artificial dye introduced. If a piece is dyed, we will tell you. |
| Irradiated | Colour changed by irradiation. |
| Synthetic | Lab-created crystal. We do not currently sell synthetic crystal skulls. |
| Glass | Glass. We do not currently sell glass skulls. |
| Resin | Resin. We do not currently sell resin skulls. |
| Pending | Not yet verified. We will confirm from supplier records before quoting. |
"Trade name" means the name the material is bought and sold under in the stone trade. A trade name is not always a mineralogical classification, and we mark it as such where that is the case.
Where a material is listed as Pending, we will confirm the mineral identity, origin and treatment from supplier records before you place an order.
You are welcome to request the material specification for the exact lot you are considering.
Per-design material status
Status reflects what we have verified from supplier records as of 2026-09-22. Where a material is marked Pending, we confirm it before you order — we do not quietly default it to “natural”.

All 20 designs have a confirmed material and treatment status. You can still request the specific-lot specification from supplier records before you order.
Why we do this
Buyers in the United States and Australia — particularly rock and mineral dealers and their customers — are rightly careful about undisclosed stone treatment. Treatment is not inherently a problem; not disclosing it is. Many treated materials are entirely legitimate and widely sold.
So we take the position that it is better to say “we have not verified this yet” than to publish a claim we cannot evidence. It costs us a little in the short term on pages where a competitor would simply write “natural”. It is worth it, because the alternative is a customer discovering a discrepancy after delivery.
What we will not do
- We do not describe a treated material as untreated.
- We do not present a trade name as if it were a mineralogical classification.
- We do not claim certifications or audits we have not been through.
- We do not make any health, medical or therapeutic claim about our products. Our products are sold as decorative carvings, collectible objects and giftware.
